How To Make A Chicken Coop That Works And Won't Cost The Earth
This article is for any individual that wants to learn how to make a chicken coop outdoors on a modest financial budget.
Read on for more tips and advice on saving money when you construct your own chicken house.
Obtain your design plans and download them from the Internet. There are lots of chicken coop plans for whatever specification you require online; all you need is patience and you'll find the best one.
You can also read more about building your own chicken coop if you, check out our informative article at How To Build A Portable Chicken Coop
Use scrap materials. The majority of the smaller chicken coops are built with materials such as wire and wood. If you do a bit of digging around, you'll find a lot of what you need by reclaiming used materials. Unused dog kennels, wire mesh, wood from the garden shed and other scraps can be found just about anywhere.
It's a good idea to borrow building tools if you only need them for one project. Simple construction requires simple tools. Every chicken coop builder needs to have the basics such as hammer, a saw and trusty nails. No doubt you've already got these in your toolkit right now as you read this. If you don't have them in your tool box, consider borrowing them from someone. I do recommend, however, that you visit your hardware store and pick up any of these basic tools you don't own as they will come in useful for future projects.
Since we're done with the savings part, let's look at a few guidelines for building your coop using simple methods.
Plans that require only three materials are the best. This means that the coops are less costly to put together and a lot more straight forward to build. Generally speaking, a design plan requiring wood for framing, wire mesh for the main structure and tarp for covering is the simplest.
I recommend building your chicken coop with wire and securing it to the floor in your outdoor space. Unless you are subjected to torrential downpour on a daily basis, you will probably want to go for a simple wire mesh chicken coop construction. Get the wire mesh and bend it into the shape of an eskimo's igloo, then anchor it down to the floor in your outdoor backyard and then complete by covering over with tarp.
Building a coop outside can be confusing if you've never done it before, so check out our report on Backyard Chicken Coop Plans for even more helpful tips and advice.
You can attach the wire meshed chicken coop with a dog house that has already been pre-built. If you want a bigger and fancier one, connect your wire mesh coop with a dog house to create a duplex coop for your flock of chickens. This will now give you an all-purpose chicken coop construction that will stand up all weather elements and keep your chickens safe. All that is required after this is to make sure your feathered friends have adequate ventilation and you have a great new home for them.
Now you have an idea of the basics required on how to make a chicken coop without it costing you a fortune, using basic tools and materials. Your coop may be simple, but it will be functional and will be able to protect your flock of chickens from predators and bad weather.

Mozilla is releasing its new version of its web browser in Firefox 8. So,
what's new?
Mozilla's faster, better browser also comes with integrated Twitter in the
search bar, add-on compatibility, HTML 5 content menus -- oh, and did we
mention it's reportedly faster?
That's important, because add-ons have triggered serious problems for users in
the past - like the notoriously buggy Skype toolbar.
A blogger for CNET writes...
**"With earlier versions, third-party software could extend Firefox with new
features--Skype's tool for highlighting phone numbers for easy online calling,
for example. With Firefox 8, though, third-party add-ons will be disabled by
default."**
Mozilla has also included Twitter into the search bar. Mozilla partnered with
Twitter this year. Here's a writer for Digital Trends' take.
**"This is ideal for users that want to get the latest real-time chatter about
significant events in the news. Firefox 8 also brings the ability to load tabs
as the user sees fit when the browser restarts, thus improving start up time.
Instead of loading all tabs that were open when the browser was closed, each
tab doesn't load until the user switches to a new ...
