Make Your Own Whitewash Furniture
whitewash furniture has peaks and troughs in its popularity. It's popularity is currently increasing pretty quickly and this is reflected in the quite steep prices that some people are charging. There are places that you can buy high quality white furniture such as bedroom furniture for good a good price, but if you want to make your own here is how.
1.First you need to sand down whatever pierce of furniture you wish to whitewash. This can be done using a pierce of sandpaper, an electric sander or maybe even chemical stripping if there is lots of paint on the piece already.Now wipe the wood down with a wet cloth to removed dust, dirt and sawdust. Wait for wood to dry
2.You then need to mix in a container, one parts water to two parts white latex paint. You’ll need a 3-inch brush and bowl of fresh water to wipe off mistakes. Using long sweeping strokes, brush over the wood following the grain. The paint will soak into the wood so you may need to go over the same patch a number of times.
3.When you have covered the piece completely and whilst it is still damp to the touch, wipe a cloth along the grain until it starts to show through again. One layer will give the wood a lightly stained look and it advised that you repeat the previous steps another 3-4 times to build it up and increase the look of quality. It all depends on your taste though.
4.When you are happy with the look, give it a light sanding again to bring out the grain again and then seal the wood using clear satin polyurethane. Let the product dry again, rub over it gently but thoroughly with a nylon abrasive pad and then repeat this last step as many times as needed to get the right look. Use this method to create a great white bathroom mirror, bedside table or even dresser.

Try looking into carbon fiber, the material your thinking of is too hard. If you fall, the material you are using alone will bruise you up underneath the clothing. I used to drag race motorcycles and we used carbon fiber and Kevlar blended plates under leather suits. Carbon fiber and Kevlar are great for this use do to the fact that the fibers can bend like cloth and still retain the strength needed to protect the person behind the fiber when needed.
