Okay, so I know that a phillips head is an 'x' shape.....and a flat head is a simple line across......but what do they call the screw that has a SQUARE shaped hole on the top? I need to disassemble my dining room chairs, and they came with that funky 'L' shaped wrench/screwdriver thing that had a square tip.....but that was long ago. Where do I find this tool and what is it called???
It is called a Robertson if it is indeed square and comes in about 4 different sizes. If it comes on a funky "L" shaped thing then it is an allen wrench, but they come in both standard sizes and metric, so you might want to take a screw with you when you go to the local hardware store to get the correct tool.
