This Autowind Hermle Grandfather Clock in Classic Oak is a beautiful old fashioned clock that typifies the craftsmenship of the Hermle brand. Upright, solid, dependable – in fact exactly how you’d want your grandfather to be! Which reminds me of a little story.

When I was a young boy, growing up in Massachusetts, my grandfather visited Germany. It must have been some kind of a business trip. He was always good buying and selling things. And when he returned home, he brought with him a Hermle clock. It was the spitting image of this one. They’ve been making them for a long time you seen. I guess it was pretty heavy to carry but he had a good back and thick arms. And my grandfather, who’d lived with us ever since his wife died, put that big old clock in our hallway, and that’s where it stayed. And that’s where it is now. It became part of the family you see. Something that’s always there, that you can always rely on.

To be honest, ever since he bought this clock I’ve always loved Hermle clocks, in fact everything which Hermle does, but that’s another story I guess. It’s a personal choice, isn’t it, when you buy a Hermle clock like this. It tells people something about how you see yourself, and whether your see yourself changing a whole lot or not.
