Where can I get 4" double dutch lap vinyl siding fixture mounting blocks?
I have 4" Double Dutch lap vinyl siding. Instead of being flat, it has a slightly deeper angle near the top of each rib, making it look a little nicer and a little less plain. The problem with the siding is I simply can not find a light fixture surface mount block that actually fits properly and would allow me to caulk the block and fixture in to be water proof. When the siding was put on the house, the morons who did the work didn't put up any blocks for any of the fixtures, and now we are suffering from water problems as a result. I've tried google, Menard's, and ebay and have had 0 results. By the way, never hire peoria siding and window.

I’ve done a lot of vinyl siding and I’ve seen a lot of what your talking about.
vinyl siding is pretty simple to work with, that’s why you get so many simpleton’s
thinking their installers
You don’t want to use the surface mount block at all,
it wont solve the water issue and will leave the fixtures lose and wobbly.
use a recessed J-block,
so you don’t have to extend the electrical box forward for proper mounting,
pick up a vinyl siding zipper tool and a pair of aviation snips to install
recognizing the problem, your probably more qualified then them anyway.
